Facilitation Services

I help organizations articulate what’s fundamentally important within the framework of their  mission and guide them towards the results they desire through strategic thinking. I’m a trained mediator, and the International Association of Facilitators certified me as a professional facilitator (2006).

I employ techniques from a range of disciplines when working with groups. Services might be rendered during a day-long session, or over the course of several months. I believe in helping parties make necessary decisions through dialogue. Much of my work is guided by principles espoused by Roger Schwarz, and his definition of facilitation, in “The Skilled Facilitator.”

Group facilitation is a process in which a person whose selection is acceptable to all the members of the group, who is substantively neutral, and who has no substantive decision–making authority diagnoses and intervenes to help a group improve how it identifies and solves problems and makes decisions, to increase the group’s effectiveness.

My focus is on goals clarification and meeting facilitation for groups in New England. See a list of groups I’ve helped with facilitation services.
