New Pond Environment

Begun in 2017, I completed my plan for the pond environs five years later (not bad, considering the length of time for some other projects). There are two components: 1) pond/boulder stream, and 2) path/retreat.

A grassy path winds through the field to a shaded destination with views of the duckpond and Western Mountain.

Gravel installed (by wheelbarrow) to span wet area.

Two bridges allow flow to the duckpond.

Boulders now fill the "streams" crossed by the bridges.

Duckpond shelter pad excavated.

Gravel pad installed.

 

Leveled and tamped.

Deck construction begins.

 

After the crew leaves I grade ramp.

 

Wait! The apple tree blocks the view.

Pruning solves that problem.
